Finn Scooter โ Buyer Waiver & Disclaimer
Last updated: May 2026
This waiver applies to all purchases of Finn Scooters (the "Scooter") through EAGL Technologies AS ("EAGL", Org. no. 923 569 839 MVA). By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the terms below.
1. Intended use โ golf courses only
The Scooter is sold as equipment for use on private golf courses and similar closed, non-public areas. It is not sold or marketed for use on public roads, public paths, or any area open to general traffic.
EAGL enforces this through the EAGL platform: the Scooter is geofenced to defined operating areas on each golf course, and age limits are enforced through the EAGL app and payment flow. The buyer must not disable, bypass, or attempt to circumvent these technical controls.
2. Buyer's responsibility for legal compliance
Rules for the registration, classification, insurance, and use of small electric vehicles vary by country and change over time. The buyer is solely responsible for ensuring that the purchase, possession, and use of the Scooter comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the country and jurisdiction where the Scooter will be used, including but not limited to:
- Vehicle classification, type approval, and registration requirements
- Insurance and liability requirements
- Age limits, helmet requirements, and operator licensing
- Restrictions on where the Scooter may be operated
- Import, customs, and product safety requirements
EAGL has gathered general guidance for selected markets (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and other EU countries) and may share this information on request, but this guidance is informational only, may be incomplete or outdated, and does not constitute legal advice. The buyer must independently verify the current rules with national authorities or qualified legal counsel before putting the Scooter into use.
3. Norway โ current understanding
Based on legal review by Advokatfirmaet Selmer AS, EAGL's understanding is that the Scooter, when constructed with a maximum design speed of 20 km/h and used only on private golf courses (not on public roads), falls within the definition of "motorredskap" under ยง 2-5 no. 4 of the Norwegian Vehicle Regulations and is exempt from registration under ยง 2-2 of the Regulation on the Use of Vehicles. This understanding may be challenged by authorities and is not a guarantee of legal status.
4. Sweden, Denmark, and other EU countries
Classification and registration rules differ between EU member states. EAGL has initiated reviews in Sweden and Denmark through Bird & Bird, but the buyer remains responsible for confirming the rules that apply locally before use. Use outside private golf courses is not authorised by EAGL under any circumstances.
5. Safe operation
The buyer (and any operator of the Scooter) is responsible for safe use, including following the manufacturer's instructions, inspecting the Scooter before each use, ensuring the operator meets the applicable age limit, and not operating the Scooter under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Helmets and other protective equipment are recommended.
6. Insurance
The buyer is responsible for arranging appropriate insurance for the Scooter and its operators, including any liability insurance required by local law. EAGL recommends that golf clubs and operators confirm coverage with their insurer before deploying the Scooter on the course.
7. Limitation of liability
EAGL sells the Scooter as equipment. EAGL is not liable for any fines, penalties, confiscation, personal injury, property damage, or other loss arising from the buyer's or any operator's use of the Scooter in breach of applicable law, in breach of this waiver, or outside the geofenced and age-restricted operating area enforced by the EAGL platform. EAGL's total liability is in any event limited to the purchase price of the Scooter, except where liability cannot be limited under mandatory law.
8. Acceptance
By checking the acceptance box at checkout and completing payment, the buyer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted this waiver, and that they assume full responsibility for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the use of the Scooter.
9. Governing law
This waiver is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts, with Oslo as the legal venue.
