This is how Miklagard Golf Club will increase the income on the golf cart fleet

2020 has been a special year, marked by a lot of uncertainty.
Like most other golf clubs, Miklagard Golfklubb had to adapt, think differently, and are now looking towards new technology to simplify the golf experience..

Technology will provide a better golf cart experience

A lot of exciting things have been done at Miklagard Golf Club in 2020. According to the management, all improvements have been made solely to improve the golf experience for both guests and members.

In the future, modern technology will be utilized to a greater extent to further strengthen the overall golf experience. The golf club has over time invested in its golf cart fleet and currently has 20 golf carts for rent.

The club has now partnered with EAGL Technologies which will elevate the golf cart experience for members and guests in addition to utilizing the potential of the golf car fleet to its fullest.

A “No-brainer”

General manager Tore Waagø at Miklagard Golfklubb, was presented with EAGL's concept this summer, and was exclusively positive when he discovered the benefits of the self service solution that automates the booking process and allows for keyless rental of golf carts.

- We want to offer our members, sponsors and players easier access to golf carts, enabling them to spend their time playing more golf, so this was a no-brainer for us, says Mr. Waagø.

Less administrative work

Sales and event manager Paal Kjelsrud, agrees with the General Manager. Kjelsrud says that there is a lot of administrative work related to golf cart rental. He believes EAGL's Fleet management system will reduce the administrative workload considerably, by letting the golf player book, pay and start the golf cart without involving the golf club staff.

- Today we manage golf cart bookings like we always have… Booking takes place by phone or physical attendance in the pro shop. An employee must manually check the calendar, what carts are available, battery capacity, hand out a physical key and receive payment before the player can get started. Golf cart rentals have also been limited to the Golf Club's opening hours, missing out on player playing before and after opening hours.

With EAGL all this is automated and our guests and members can rent a golf cart as long as there is sunlight, says a smiling Kjeldsrud.
