Hills Golf & Sports Club have a positive development, both in golf and financially.  The golf club is now investing in keyless golf cart technology. The goal is to simplify the golf cart booking process for both the club, guests and members.

Large sums have been invested in Hills Golf & Sports Club in Mölndal since the Edfors group became part owners in 2012. Hills club manager and CEO, Mats Sterner, has, among other things, rebuilt the golf course, established a new fitness center, renovated the restaurant and set up paddle courses. All with the goal of making Hills a "nice" place to visit.

Wants to increase rental of golf carts

Hills focuses on making golf more accessible for its members. They are now taking a step further by simplifying the rental of golf carts. Hills has partnered with EAGL Technologies that have developed a smartbox that allows old and new golf carts to be driver keyless. This allows players to book, drive, and easily pay for the golf cart through an app without involving the staff at the golf club. The installation is “plug & play” and the golf club install the smartbox.

Mats Sterner, CEO and club manager at Hills Golf Club: " we have a goal of increasing the revenue by SEK 300,000 when we now have the possibility to rent out keyless golf carts from early morning until late at night. Photo: Hills Golf Club.

- We think that EAGL delivers a great product that makes it easier for our members to book golf carts. It is a system that provides practical and financial benefits, both for golfers and the club, says Sterner.

Hills has a turnover of approximately SEK 2 million on golf car rentals every year. The goal is to increase the turnover using EAGL's service and technology.

- It is important to offer golf carts as an extra service, but it is also important to get paid for the golf cart throughout the day. Our reception closes at 18.00, which makes it difficult for us and for players to rent the golf carts in the evening.

- With EAGL, this will be possible, and we have a goal of increasing the revenue by SEK 300,000 when we now have the possibility to rent out keyless golf carts from early morning until late at night, says Sterner.
